When we think of the idea of slowing down, it’s often in the same vein as phrases like, “There will be plenty of time to rest when I’m dead”, or we count down the days until vacation and think that’s our time to slow down and catch our breath.
I can’t speak for the afterlife, but I do know that vacations are great – every moment spent with your toes in the sand, seeing the sights, or whatever tickles your fancy is precious, so soak it up – but don’t we all deserve to live at a pace that doesn’t stress us out, that refreshes our spirit and cleanses our soul as often as possible without relying on escaping our lives for a while to make it happen? Heck yeah, we do!
The good news? It’s absolutely possible without dying (thank, heavens!) or waiting until vacation. There are shifts that we can make in our lives and in ourselves that will allow us to better enjoy life, while still handling our business.
Benefits of slowing down.
Slowing down and simplifying life is about cutting through the bullpoop and busyness that makes us want to escape our own reality so that we can stress less, focus on what truly matters, and kick back when we feel the need to rest.
It’s really that sample, and science agrees – slow down and you will improve your health and well-being.
